Knights Advance to State Quarterfinals

Tonight Steele played the Weslaco East Wildcats at Buccaneer Stadium in Corpus Christi. It was quite a long day – the kids and I left the house at 9:33 am and arrived back home a little past 11 pm! But the big round trip to the city by the sea was worth it as the Knights shut out the Wildcats, 56-0. There was quite a bit of action with 8 TD’s and it was a fun game to watch (that is, when I wasn’t pulling one of my kids off crushed goldfish on the stadium floor or some spit out chewed gum they found on the ground as well). And as Mike my yoga buddy so eloquently said a few weeks ago, “in a season of abbreviated game descriptions,” I’m including this article summarizing the game for those interested in more of a play by play. Rex was #knitrobaby again, and several fans wanted photos of him (didn’t I say I felt like I was walking around with a celebrity when I was with him LOL?!). I’m glad he’s getting some love though – from what I understand, it can be tough being the middle child! 😉 He also was the game meme too haha (see below)! Oh, and just a note – the weather was phenomenal – unlike last week’s super cold and windy game, this was a very beautiful and pleasant evening (not too cool and not too warm)!

At any rate, I’m extremely proud of the Knights and am excited to see what the rest of the season has in store for this group of young men! Next week we will play San Antonio’s Churchill Chargers on Sat, Dec 3 at the Alamodome. As of now, the game time is still TBA. Please join me in praying that it’s early (i.e. not 7 or 8pm) because I’m running a full marathon the following morning, eek!  This will be the fourth round and is the State Quarterfinals. GO KNIGHTS!!!
