Losing the Last One

This past Tuesday, March 21, 2017, I lost my last living grandparent, my maternal grandfather, William J. Hetzler, age 92. He was also my kids’ last living great grandparent. It was expected, and while we are glad that he is no longer suffering, it has been tough. It was difficult every time that I lost a grandparent, but for some reason there is something about the last one that is extra hard. I appreciate all of the prayers, support and love and take comfort in knowing that he’s joined the army of guardian angels watching down upon us. He lived a full and wonderful life, and was a tremendous human being. We will miss him dearly. RIP, Grandpa.
