Ty Baby Turns One!

IMG_2880I’m so sad that my baby is one year old. This last year was full of so much emotion – and by emotion, I mean me going insane 90+% of the time… The third one is what put me over the edge (don’t take this personal, Ty Baby). Not sure if it was having three kids that did it, the simple fact that all three were born in less than three year’s time, or all of the above, but I sure lost it again and again this past year. This kind of surprised me because I pretty easily kept my cool with just the first two, but I guess I should have known that eventually I would break, and break badly.  BUT, that said, while this last year was filled with complete utter chaos, there was also a lot of fun and best of all, a lot of love. Seriously though. How in the heck do we have A) three children, and B), three children ages 1, 2, and 3?!  It blows my mind sometimes. PS. Here is Landri’s 1st birthday post and Rex’s as well.  And PPS. Since I don’t do monthly updates for the “big kids” anymore, I just need to make a totally random note that the daily amount of Band-Aids that a mom of toddlers goes thru is INSANE. To all the moms out there, I know ya feel me!!!

So…Ty still isn’t the hugest fan of real food…but he is getting into bananas and occasionally blueberries, so hopefully he won’t be following in Rex’s “if it’s from the earth, I hate it” footsteps. He also tries more things  now besides his favorite food (Goldfish), and ate half a peanut butter and jelly sandwich the other day.

Crazy Hair! His long blonde hair cracks me up when it blows in the wind or when Landri jacks with it when it’s wet and makes him have “crazy hair” she calls it.  He still only has four teeth on top and another four on bottom, but his gums seem awfully swollen so maybe more teeth are on the way.  Regardless, his toothy little smile is precious.  He’s also the tannest white baby you ever saw!  His legs and arms are golden brown and he has a sweet roll tan (white inside his small fat rolls).

Ty is also getting more and more comfortable at the pool and is a champion breath holder.  He seems to enjoy it quite a bit and splashes around a lot.  He “dives” in off the side and rolls onto his back. It’s super cute. He doesn’t even cry 9 times out of 10!

We think he says “Momma,” “Ball,” and “Ba-ba” (bottle), but aren’t 100% sure. He definitely knows his name, what a ball is and bye bye (sometimes he waves).  He’s still not walking, but pulls up and is quite the speed crawler. He’s pretty tough – but he has to be – he’s the littlest Lehnhoff and having Rex as a big bro is not easy! Ty loves balls and hates diaper changes.  In general, he’s still pretty chill.  We sure do love that little munchkin!

Scott Says…(and not his best effort, surprise, surprise, BUT to be fair, I did wake him up to do this)

M: If you had to describe Ty using only one word, what would it be and why?
S: Cheerful. He’s typically happy.

M: What is your favorite thing about Ty?
S: I don’t know.
M: That’s not an acceptable answer.
S: I hate these stupid interviews.

M: What is the funniest thing about Ty?
S: Nothing’s funny about him.
M: Seriously?

M: What is your biggest fear for Ty?
S: That his brother and sister will hurt him.

M: What are you most looking forward to with Ty?
S: Getting out of diapers.
M: Man, I thought it would be something sports or hunting related.

M: What do you think Landri’s opinion of Ty is?
S: She loves him.
M: What do you think Rex’s opinion of Ty is?
S: He likes him.

Here is Ty over the last 12 months:

Here’s a few newborn pics (he looks nothing like he did as a newborn with his dark hair!):
