Last night we braved the “arctic blast” to watch the Steele Knights defeat the MacArthur Brahmas, 70-21 in our first playoff game of the season at the newly renovated Alamo Stadium (also the LARGEST high school stadium in Texas and actually maybe even the US???, I believe). And once again, my two kids proved that football is in their blood by both completely rocking the high 30’s/low 40’s weather for the entire duration of the football game! I was amazed!! Special shoutout to Devin and Maria for the kids’ snow suits!!! Apparently I needed one though because I woke up sick as a dog, and am consequently starting some antibiotics as we speak. Anyhow, a huge congrats to the Knights on their most recent win!! This next week we have a very, very big playoff game: our predicted opponent will be San Antonio’s Brennan, an undefeated team who is currently ranked higher than us. Rumor has the game to be played on Saturday in the Alamo Dome at either 6 or 8 pm (of course this could still change). I think the Knights have kept an eye on these guys all season and are already hard at work preparing. It should be quite the game — and on a side note, I’m very happy about it being indoors (fingers crossed it stays that way)!!
