Highs and Lows

Well, it’s been a very wild week.  We’ve had swim lessons, the opening of dove season, Landri’s and Rex’s Mother’s Day Out started this week, Rex got his first tooth, and HBO has been here following us (see explanation here), and wrapped up filming this evening at our first home game of the season.  It was a great game – the Knights shut out another team, this time defeating Laredo United South 62-0. It was Rex’s first real football game, and he passed his Nitro/Glycerin initiation with flying colors (whereas Landri continues to struggle, LOL).

But while there were many highs this week, tonight we are mourning the loss of Scott’s grandfather (Glenda’s father), Weldon Roberson, better known as Pa Butch. He passed peacefully this evening and we will miss him terribly. I once read that “when someone you love becomes a memory, a memory becomes a treasure,” and that’s exactly right. We will treasure our memories and time spent with him, and rest in knowing that he went to be with our Lord in Heaven and is watching over us.

Rest in peace, Pa Butch.  We love and miss you.

  1. So saddened for your loss, Megan. Pass my condolences to Scott, please, as I don’t get to see him terribly often, now. Peace be with you all this day & the days ahead.
