A bull in a china cabinet. Lennie Small. Toddzilla 2.0 (Landri is 1.0). These are all words that can be used to describe Rex William Lehnhoff, age 22 months. He is one wild child who just blows and goes and is his own man!!! He is still very boyish, into all the cliche boy toys like trucks, tractors, cars, all sports: t-ball (that’s new!), football, basketball, and just destruction of anything and everything in general. If there is a way to make trouble, that boy will find it. In fact, just the other day I found in in the bath tub, fully clothed with the water running!! Terrifying! He also loves wrestling Ty which right now is him completely dominating Ty…but he’s not just a typical boy. He does have a softer side. Having a big sister has also influenced his playtime. I’ve seen Rex successfully battle Landri for her Barbies, My Little Ponies, and princess tiaras. And it’s not uncommon to catch him in dress up high heels (or mine)! But hands down, the best was when he toddled up to me, puckered his lips and demanded, “‘Parkle yiptick, Mommy!” (that translates to “Sparkle Lipstick”) No lie. I about fell out!!!
Rex can repeat everything (and he does) and has a huge vocabulary. It’s impressive! He loves to sing – knows tons of songs and randomly will belt them out in bed, the bath, or at dinner. Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star is probably his favorite.
His biggest developmental opportunities right now are not hitting and not throwing tantrums. And not destroying everything he lays his hands on.
He is serious one of the cutest humans on earth. I adore him!!!
