You may recall my previous post <https://livinwiththelehnhoffs.com/2013/03/20/sew-crafty/> where my mom and I made Landri an adorable little hat! So now we finally got around to making the matching dress and bloomers – and they turned out majorly fabulous! The pattern was marketed as “easy” which was my primary reason for selecting it over the more “difficult” patterns. Well, I quickly discovered that this so called “easy” designation was an outright lie. To be fair, the bloomers were in fact quite easy, but the dress was about as easy as pole vaulting blindfolded on the moon. Okay, maybe a slight exaggeration, but seriously, it was torturous. The ruffles, bodice lining, buttons and the continuous lap were insane! Yes, the “continuous lap.” You don’t know what that is? Don’t worry – you’re not alone. Easy my a$$! There is no way I could have made that dress without my mom’s private sewing bootcamp so a huge shout out to her for the guidance! Also, I made a swim suit coverup/shirt/dress that was pretty simple and I think is also cute. Check it out! Unfortunately it’s all a tiny but too big for Landri, but much better to be too big than too small, haha!
Stay tuned – I should have some great Landri updates in the next few weeks: first Sunday Funday Pool Day, first overnight ranch trip, first trip to the coast, trouble that comes with crawling independence, and much more! And on the subject of health style, I attended my first cooking class (which was vegan!) and have some new fave foods for you to try! More soon!
too cute!
